Guide to resources supporting telecommunicators' mental health

Public Safety Telecommunicators are often the first point of contact in an emergency. They must remain calm and act decisively to send help during the most difficult and frightening circumstances. Telecommunicators experience high levels of occupational stress, which can impact their mental health.

The National Council of Statewide Interoperability Coordinators (NCSIC) Planning, Training, and Exercise (PTE) Committee has just released a Human Factors Resource Guide, a curate list of resources that includes both live support and self-guided tools to support telecommunicators' mental health.  This guide provides an important first step for telecommunicators and their agencies to promote mental health and resiliency in the workplace.
